What is Thermoforming?

Thermoforming is widely used within the food processing industry as this form of packaging protects the product by forming a barrier ensuring hygiene. It can also increase shelf life and enables viewing of the food products within the packaging.

Fresh products can be packed with or without a lid for products such as pasta, ravioli, salami, cheeses, vegetables, fish and meat.

Thermoforming can also be used in the bakery and confectionery industries for the packing of cakes, sweets and biscuits etc.

Food products can also be packed using heat resistant materials to enable the cooking and heating of ready meals in a microwave.
